Do you question the food we eat today?


We do not place much attention to our food these days. What most of us care about are the price and the taste. Price and taste determines the popularity of the food. Think about donuts, white bread toast, roti prata/canai, cereals, biscuits, fried noodles etc.

The single most important thing we never question is the nutrient contained in the food we eat. It’s not about the macros like protein, carbohydrates and fats. It’s the vitamins and minerals.

Food produced at commercial scale, in other words, those you see in the supermarket shelves are shelf-life stable, meaning they can keep for a long time.

To achieve this, they must alter the form of the food to produce a shelf-life stable food. Most of the nutrients are removed during the process. Hence, the food is basically empty in nutrients but packed with calories, also known as empty calories.

Worse, the producers add a lot of chemicals like preservatives to make the shelf life even longer. Next time try reading the ingredients list next to the nutrition facts.

This kind of food makes you fatthen makes you weakand ultimately makes you sick.
